Children's book illustration concept work

This is some of my concept work for my children's book illustration class. I am illustrating select poems Jack Prelutsky's Nightmares: Poems to Trouble Your Sleep. These are just some character developments for the main character I created. The little girl was the final one I'm going with she will be experiencing all the poems through the book.

Some spring 08 semester work

It has been a busy past few months in which I have done more growing, experimenting, and learning. So here is some pieces from this spring semester.

This is a video I did for my image, text, and sound class that is part of the photo minor I am attempting to complete. It is just playing with a bit of traditional animation I tried out for the 1st time using a character I had doodled up one day.

Another video from this class will be posted once a bit of editing is done.

This is just some drawings done for an illustration project illustrating on an event in Miami Beach, FL.

There will be more spring semester work coming soon using a technique I am currently trying to develop and I'm excited to see where it takes me.

Doodles for upcoming side projects

These are just some doodles I have done in my new sketch book given to me by my sister =). I hope to further develop these so far I did a traditional animation of the top center monster. The video will be up as soon as get past some rendering issues I'm having with After Effects. There will be more drawings coming soon I've been getting inspired for all sorts of things and artists. As for the videos there will be more of them from the semester being posted after some editing is done.

There will be more work coming as I now have time to slowly start scanning everything so check back. Scanning might take awhile since I do have 6 studio classes worth of work from this semester alone.

Thanksgiving Miami shots

I woke up nice and early for a 5 AM shoot of Miami during the Thanksgiving break. Getting most of the shots I have been wanting all summer were a bit of a challenge I had to work fast so I would not get run over and deal with the sun rise beaming at my lens making my light meter work against me. I manage to get a lot of shots so far these are the ones I have had the time to edit...enjoy.

The parts of Miami in the photos are...parts of Brickell, Downtown, Macarthur Causeway area, parts of Miami Beach, and Ocean Drive.


This one is of my neighborhood at 1AM right before the 5 AM shoot.


That is pretty much what I had time for over the break. More art coming soon as the semester comes to an end.
